Contractor City Tree Info
If you are a contractor, you may not work on city trees without a permit.
Naples City Ordinance
A city tree is any tree within any public right-of-way, between property lines and streets, medians, culs-de-sac, alleys, and traffic islands, located in any parks, and any other tree that the city owns and cares for.
All alterations, trimmings, or removals of city trees must be performed by a contractor licensed, registered, certified or otherwise qualified to operate within the City.
You may not remove a city tree unless you have an approved permit, and the tree poses a safety hazard, is an invasive species, is diseased, damaged, or weakened and poses a safety risk, or unreasonably prevents the development or use of a property. There are rules protecting city trees near or adjacent to construction sites. Topping or hatracking is prohibited.
